central casting Burbank california my start in hollywood

inspired by John Belushi, Chris Farley ,Charlie Chaplin, Lucille Ball, Three Stooges, Dustin Hoffman,Jack Nicholson, AL Pacino, and many many more.

my new adventure in hollywood, i had a couple of connections in the industry but  chose to create new relationships for this uphill challenge. so i asked myself where do I start. After several hours of research on the internet I found out to get an agent you must be a member of sag and to become a member of sag you must have an agent. also in my research i found several casting agencies that work with nonunion background artists. the company i chose to go with is called central casting, they claim to be the biggest one in industry. having minimal funds i purchased two secondhand cheap and cheesy suits from a thrift store that fit me like an oj glove.central casting was right in the middle of changing their hiring policies so i had to wait a few weeks to get an appointment.  i showed up to my appointment looking my best, they snapped a photo of me and i was on my way.  they say dancers go to the studio and dance, musicians go to rehearsal to practice and actors sit by the phone and wait for it to ring.So i enrolled myself in  an improv class at second city on the hollywood strip to stay proactive and what do you know a couple of days later the phone rang, it was central casting checking to see if I was available the following week. At that moment my brain was racing a million miles an hour. the show was called rules of engagement starring david spade. It was a 15 hour day and when the episode aired i was visible in the shot for a total of three seconds.at this point I was hooked for good lol.  When you are a background actor you need to check for available work several times an hour all day long.and then if there is a role that fits you  must sometimes call in several hundred times to get through to the casting director.  at which point they decide if you are a good fit.
